The Emerging Leaders of Tampa Bay Leadership Team is made up of a Program Chair and Program Vice Chair as well as Chairs and Vice Chairs of our four focus areas: Community Outreach, Membership, Professional Development and Public Policy. Members of the Emerge Leadership Team serve for one year and must re-apply to be a chair the following year. Applications for the next leadership team will come out in August of each year.

Jeff Chernoff,
Program Chair

Jeff Chernoff is a native of Tampa Bay who works in the family business. As an Insurance Advisor at Insurance and Trust, Jeff focuses on providing package policies for individuals and families, life insurance, disability income and long term care. Jeff and his family take pride in his being a 3rd generation insurance advisor serving businesses, families, and individuals. 
Prior to his work in the insurance industry, Jeff worked in higher education at the University of North Dakota, Ferris State University, and Virginia Tech. He holds a Bachelors of Science from the University of Florida and a Masters Degree from the University of North Dakota. 
Jeff is actively involved in several community organizations including the Centre Club, Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce, the Tampa Chapter of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA), and Instruments of Change.

At J.P. Morgan, Andrew advises business owners on strategies that can help enhance shareholder value, create liquidity, and manage concentrated wealth tied to private enterprise. Common goals of his clients include: establishing an ownership exit or succession plan, reducing estate taxes, asset protection, and financial security. 
Andrew is a Tampa native and Jesuit High School Alumnus. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Management from Georgia Tech, Juris Doctor from Florida State University College of Law, and is currently pursuing his Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Florida. In addition, Andrew is a licensed attorney, Certified Financial Planner, and Chartered Financial Analyst Level II Candidate.

Hohman Homes

Nico Hohman is the broker/owner of Hohman Homes, a residential real estate brokerage. Mr. Hohman is a contributing author to REALTOR Magazine and to Inman News, an innovative news source for the real estate industry. He is also an adjunct professor of real estate at Hillsborough Community College. Each fall, Coach Hohman is the Head Golf Coach at Jesuit High School in Tampa, which has won 11 consecutive district titles. Nico is actively involved in bettering the standards of the real estate industry and the greater Tampa Bay community by serving on committees and boards within the Greater Tampa Realtors, Florida Realtors, Toastmasters International, Emerging Leaders of Tampa Bay, Nativity Catholic School, the University of Florida School of Construction Management, and the All Children's Hospital Guild. In his free time, he enjoys watching his beloved Chicago Cubs, Florida Gators, and Borussia Dortmund soccer team. Nico currently lives in Brandon, Fla. with his wife, Jessica; their son, Brooks; and their dog, Wrigley.

Dawn Morgan is a senior accountant with KB Healthcare Consulants, a division of Kerkering, Barberio & Co.  KB is the largest locally owned accounting firm in Florida, and the 7th largest accounting firm in the state. 
At KB, Dawn provides individual and business tax consulting along with "best practice" service solutions to healthcare industry organizations including all physician specialties, hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers.  Best practice solutions focus on enhancing profitability by managing expenses, increasing revenue and improving operational efficiency.
A Tampa Bay native, Dawn graduated from University of South Florida - St. Petersburg with a Masters of Business Administration with a focus in forensic accounting.  She is also a Certified Public Accountant.  In her spare time, Dawn enjoys networking, cooking, trying new restaurants, and exercising.

DEX Imaging

Raechel is proud to work at DEX Imaging, ranked by the Tampa Bay Business Journal as one of the top 50 privately held companies in Tampa Bay. As a family owned, locally founded business, every year DEX Imaging gives 1/3 of the company’s profits back to education and nonprofits in the surrounding community and another 1/3 back to their employees as profit sharing. In her role at DEX, Raechel works with local business owners who are concerned about the inflated costs of mismanaged print, frustrated with electronic document management systems that don’t meet their needs, or worried about rising security threats and industry compliance as it relates to their printer and copier fleets. Raechel and her clients work together to implement technology solutions that mitigate long term costs while better protecting sensitive information and improving day to day operations.

Raechel, originally a native of North Carolina, moved to Florida with her family in 1995. After attending high school on the Space Coast, Raechel moved to Tampa to attend the University of South Florida and has been in love with the Bay Area ever since. As a second generation USF graduate and 1 of 4 in her immediate family to attend USF, Raechel was proud to carry on the family legacy as “a herd of proud USF Bulls.” In 2013 Raechel defended her thesis and graduated suma cum laude; she currently holds a B.A. in Psychology with an emphasis on research in the field of peer relations and a minor in Sociology. A firm believer in conquering new challenges and lifelong learning, she also holds her 1st degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and hopes to add a skydiving certificate to her collection of skills soon.

Raechel currently serves as Membership Chair 2017 to Emerge Tampa Bay, working as a team with her fellow Emerge Leaders and committee members to engage and connect local young professionals with opportunities for growth, development, community engagement, and a voice in local policy making. She also enjoys volunteering for the Alzheimer’s Association and the ALS Association. Gaines Hayes is a Tampa native and Plant High School Alumnus. While at the University of Florida in Gainesville, he graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Political Science and Classics. He then graduated from the University of Virginia with a Masters in Commerce.

Gaines is currently an Analyst in the Compliance Department for the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC). DTCC is the premier post-trade market infrastructure for the global financial services industry. From operating facilities, data centers and offices in 16 countries, DTCC, through its subsidiaries, automates, centralizes, and standardizes the post-trade processing of financial transactions, mitigating risk, increasing transparency and driving efficiency for thousands of broker/dealers, custodian banks and asset managers worldwide.

Dave Loos is a Tampa Native and an alumnus of the University of South Florida. He studied and received a BA in International Affairs. He continued his education and completed a MS in International Relations: National Security Affairs from Troy University.

Currently, Dave is employed as an Account Executive with Beaux-Arts Group, Tampa’s 2013 Small Business of the Year recipient. He is also the Vice-Chair for Emerge’s Public Policy Committee as well as an active member of CREW.

He has volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and Paint Your Heart Out Tampa. In his free time you can usually find him on the golf course, the soccer pitch, or walking his dog “Moo.”   Contact David at dloos@beauxartsgroup.com.

His background of over 6 years in customer service – including retail work that satisfied customer desires and created solutions – transition seamlessly to provide clients with unprecedented attention and care.

His ability to provide partners with both extensive insight and attention to detail give him an upper hand in meeting a clients’ specific needs.

As a retail sunglass business entrepreneur throughout college, Eric worked to grow his own expanding business and blog in the Tampa Bay area for over two years. He effectively worked to market his business to make nationwide sales. His successes give him the proper mindset to understand and communicate with fellow business owners.

With this inclusive background, he can provide a consistent vision throughout all campaigns, while achieving the desired impact of individual clients. He is also involved in many c​​community organizations ranging from the USF Communications Undergraduate Advisory Board, the St. Pete Science Festival Marketing Committee, to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Young Professional Committee.

Tammy Charles is an entrepreneur, consultant, writer, and speaker with experiences in non-profit and fund development, community relations, strategic analysis, and social enterprise development. She graduated top of her business class from the University of Tampa with Magna Cum Laude distinction in management. She later received her MBA and Nonprofit Leadership Certificate in 2016. Tammy is an emerging leader in the Tampa Bay community and has received numerous accolades including the 2014 President Bill Clinton’s Commitment to Action Award for her work with her start up, Ambrosia Global, LLC, The 2016 Tampa Bay Business Journal’s Up and Comer Award for the Under 30 Category and was a finalist for the Deanne Dewey Roberts Emerging Leader Award,  Her entrepreneurial endeavors have also been featured on the Clinton Global Initiative, 83 Degrees Media, The Hult Prize, the CEO Council, and the Global Health and Food Innovation to name a few.

She is currently the Senior Manager of Corporate Relations at Metropolitan Ministries. Through this role she has been able to impact virtually every area of its mission of caring for the poor and homeless by increasing corporate partnership engagement, financial resources, and human capital to meet programmatic goals. She is currently developing her start up TMC Consulting where she will utilize her strategic gifts to empower and equip social entrepreneurs and grass roots community leaders locally and internationally to expand their mission and enhance their operations.

In addition to her professional work, Tammy strives to serve her community in various areas of community development, economic empowerment, and social justice. She is an active member of the Chamber’s Women of Influence Committee. She currently sits on the board of the YWCA Tampa Bay. She is also actively involved in social justice movements such as Reborn Tampa Bay and mentors leaders in the community. Jill McSpadden is a Senior Tax Associate at Rivero, Gordimer & Company, P.A. in Tampa, FL. She has over three years of experience providing federal and state income tax compliance for various business entities and individuals. Jill is a Certified Public Accountant, licensed in the state of Florida. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Accounting and her Master of Science in Accounting from the University of Florida.
Jill is excited to serve as the Vice Chair for the Community Outreach Committee this year. In addition to her involvement with Emerge, she is also actively involved with the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FICPA). She serves on the Young CPA committee and is a board member of the West Coast Chapter of the FICPA.
