Join the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce’s Women of Influence Committee as we hear from Rita Lowman, President of Pilot Bank. Rita will share her story and express why emerging leaders are important in all industries as we move into 2020.

From the small town of Columbus, GA to the big city of Tampa, Rita Lowman has plowed her own path. Her story exhibits a journey of strength, tenacity, and drive that has bucked the idea of a simple job and replaced it with a brilliant career.

Her roots in a small town gave her the courage and the strength to push through the herd and take her place at the head of the Florida banking industry. Rita was recently named President of Pilot Bank and also Chairs the Florida Bankers Association, making her the third woman to lead the statewide group in its 128-year history.

About Rita Lowman

Rita Lowman is a 40 year banker who has blazed trails for the industry throughout her career. Her career highlights include managing 22 acquisitions, including the NationsBank/Barnett acquisition in 1997 where she was awarded the Crystal Grenade. She has had numerous articles on banking published and is a requested speaker on subjects from Successful Management to Women in the Boardroom. In 2014, she was recognized by the Florida Bankers Association with the coveted Chairman’s Award. Rita was honored in 2015, 2016 and 2017 as one of the Power 100 Most Influential People by the Tampa Bay Business Journal. Rita’s book From the Farm to the Boardroom: Leadership Lessons has received excellent reviews since its December release and was recently named the #1 Business Book of 2017 by Richter Publishing.
