2014-2016 Strategic Plan
In 2013, the Chamber embarked on crafting a three-year strategic plan. Our Board and volunteers were instrumental to this process. We started off by conducted our annual membership survey. Our Marketing Committee stepped in and analyzed past surveys and provided valuable input on how we could adjust our questions for better feedback.
At the conclusion of our survey process, we conducted a series of six focus groups, three which were comprised of Board members, one comprised of key volunteers (committee chairs, active committee members and Ambassadors), one comprised of members of the Leadership Team of our young professionals group – Emerge Tampa Bay and the last group containing a mix of Board members and key volunteers. Each of the focus groups, facilitated by our Marketing Committee, centered around three questions:
How can the chamber support a strong local business climate?
What issues are important for the Chamber to work on – short term (less than 2 years) and long term, (more than 2 years).
How can the chamber continue to develop leaders and strengthen/support out local talent base?
Our last step in the process was a session held at our Annual Leadership Retreat, facilitated by Mick Flemming of ACCE, focused on strategic planning and setting goals. From the survey results, focus group notes and Leadership Retreat input, we were able to put together the Chamber’s three-year strategic plan.
