ABOUT EMERGE TAMPA BAY

Emerge Tampa Bay is a leadership program of the Greater Tampa and Clearwater Regional Chambers of Commerce designed for emerging leaders ages 21 to 35.  The program concentrates on six main segments: TALK, VOICE, CONNECT, GROW, INTERACT and BUILD. Each segment is led by two Segment Co-Chairs, who report to the two Emerge Tampa Bay Co-Chairs that help to lead the program.

MISSION

Emerge Tampa Bay connects and engages emerging leaders ages 21-35 in activities that support our community and the Greater Tampa and Clearwater Regional Chambers of Commerce while making Tampa, Hillsborough County, Clearwater, Pinellas County and surrounding communities a more energetic, exciting and active place to live.  Emerge Tampa Bay will:

• Cultivate and nurture Tampa Bay's future leaders.
• Foster social community, civic intent and active participation.
• Empower emerging leaders (ages 21 to 35).
• Assist in the recruiting and retaining of talent in Tampa, Hillsborough County, Clearwater, Pinellas County and surrounding area.
• Complement the goals of the Greater Tampa and Clearwater Regional Chambers of Commerce and existing community organizations.

VISION

The concept for Emerge Tampa Bay, formally known as Emerge Tampa, stemmed from an initiative of the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce and the community to recruit and retain talent in the grater Tampa area.  As the idea attracted more interest from the community, the Tampa Chamber began developing the elements of its new leadership program.  Following approval by the Chamber Board of Directors in 2003, the Tampa Chamber launched Emerge Tampa in May 2004.

In August 2007 the Clearwater Regional Chamber of Commerce approached the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce about its interest in cultivating young professionals in northern Pinellas County.  After several meetings between the leaders of these two great organizations it was determined that the best approach would be a partnership within the Emerge Tampa program to include young professionals from the entire Tampa Bay area.  Thus Emerge Tampa Bay was born!

HOW IT WORKS

Each segment regularly hosts a wide variety of events for all Emerge Tampa Bay participants.

Up-to-date event listings and descriptions can be found on the Emerge Tampa Bay Events Calendar. Participants may determine their own level of participation depending on their interests and goals. Monthly segment meetings are open to any Emerge Tampa Bay participant interested in being involved in planning events and activities for each segment. Meeting notices for segment meetings are emailed to participants based on how the segments were ranked on the original application.

The Chamber is currently accepting Emerge Tampa Bay participant applications online at www.emergetampabay.org. Annual participant dues are $50 for Chamber member employees and $75 for non-Chamber members.
