Robert J. (Bob) Rohrlack, Jr., CEcD
President & CEO
Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce | Bob Rohrlack serves as the President and CEO of The Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce, the voice of business for the Tampa/Hillsborough County area. He leads the Chamber’s mission to “Serve the members and enhance the community by building business success” overseeing the daily operations of the Chamber. He began in this role in April 2009.
He has over 24 years experience in the Chamber of Commerce/economic development profession having worked at the local and state level. He was the Senior Vice President for Enterprise Florida, the state’s public-private partnership for economic development, leading the state’s efforts to attract, retain and help expand businesses in the state. During his tenure at EFI he helped establish over $7.2 billion in capital investment and over 95,000 new and retained jobs in the state. He has led several Governors’ missions on commerce issues helping to shape the discussion resulting in new investment in his service territory. In 2007 he was part of the team to win “Deal of the Year” from CoreNet, the international corporate real estate organization.
His experience in the Chamber of Commerce industry includes program and financial management, incubator development, technology transfer, economic development and international trade. He has spoken internationally on a variety of topics related to commerce. He was the first in his profession with a Master’s Degree in Economic Development to obtain the Certified Economic Developer (CecD) professional designation. He also led the first Chamber of Commerce to be an Accredited Economic Development Organization in the state of Florida.
Mr. Rohrlack is a graduate of Troy University and The University of Southern Mississippi. He graduated from the Economic Development Institute at the University of Oklahoma and the Institute for Organizational Management, a program of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce at the University of Georgia.
He has been recognized by Site Selection and Industry Development Magazine for “Outstanding Leadership and Success”. He was raised in Florida, is married and has three sons.
