CHAMBER PARTNERS WITH U.S. CENSUS BUREAU
With exactly one month to go until Census Day on April 1, the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce today announced its commitment to help the U.S. Census Bureau achieve an accurate count of our nation’s population. The Chamber confirmed its partnership with the U.S. Census Bureau in a resolution passed by the Board of Directors last Thursday, February 25.
As part of the kickoff to the “Raise Your Hand for Hillsborough” initiative, the Chamber also rolled out its newly redesigned web site.
“An accurate census is vital to our community well-being. It helps guide the allocation of more than $400 billion in federal funding and determines our region’s representation in Congress,” said Bob Rohrlack, president and CEO of the Chamber. “We want everyone to raise their hand for Hillsborough and be counted in 2010.”
During March and April, the Chamber will be actively encouraging its members and their employees to complete the 2010 census form using multiple communication channels, including the newly redesigned www.tampachamber.com.
