Since 1954, the Chamber's economic development department, the Committee of One Hundred, has been committed to enhancing and diversifying our economy, evolving our employment opportunities, increasing our tax base and sustaining our quality of life.
The Committee of One Hundred is Tampa/Hillsborough County's official economic development partnership, funded in partnership with Hillsborough County, the cities of Tampa, Plant City, and Temple Terrace, and private sector investors. Investors are all valued members of the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce. An investment in the Committee of One Hundred publicly demonstrates a company's commitment to support quality economic development programs and the creation of jobs that diversify and strengthen the area's economy.

A key initiative of the Committee of One Hundred is the Local Business Retention and Expansion Program. Approximately 75 percent of our community's growth comes from our existing business base and start-up operations.
