In this session, Michelle will talk about inclusion as an essential driver for business and discuss ways women can take charge of and progress their careers, at any age or stage. A firm believer that “having it all” is a bold-faced lie, Michelle will provide insights into how women can zero in on their priorities and take calculated risks to achieve greater success.

As a global executive, entrepreneur and philanthropist, Michelle Gadsden-Williams’s professional experience spans more than 25 years, with companies such as Novartis, Merck, Credit Suisse, and Accenture, where she is now Managing Director for North American Inclusion and Diversity. Her first book, CLIMB: Taking Every Step with Conviction, Courage, and Calculated Risk to Achieve a Thriving Career and a Successful Life, was published earlier this year. Under Michelle’s leadership, Accenture was recently named the number one company on Thomson Reuters Index of the World’s Most Diverse and Inclusive Companies.

About Michelle Gadsden-Williams

A seasoned practitioner, Michelle is managing director of North America Inclusion and Diversity at Accenture, and has more than 25 years of experience as an advocate for equality within corporate America and a thought leader around inclusion and diversity. Prior to founding her own business, Michelle served as the global head of diversity and inclusion at Credit Suisse and as chief diversity officer at Novartis.

A proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated and the Executive Leadership Council, Michelle serves on several boards including the Jackie Robinson Foundation, Black Girls Rock, the SLE Lupus Foundation. She also is an Executive Committee Member of the Women’s Leadership Board of the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. She received bachelor’s degrees in marketing and communications from Kean College of New Jersey and a master’s in organizational dynamics from the University of Pennsylvania. Michelle and her husband live in New York City.
