Dr. David Felsen
Executive Director of the Office of International Affairs
Saint Leo University

Dr. David Felsen serves as Executive Director of the Office of International Affairs of Saint Leo University. He is also an Associate Professor of International Business at Saint Leo’s Tapia School of Business. 
The International Affairs office is responsible for the University’s internationalization strategy, whose objectives include growing the number and quality of international experiences available to students and faculty at the university, notably faculty-led study abroad and semester abroad opportunities, as well as service learning experiences.  The office is also responsible for developing and sustaining strategic and meaningful international partnerships with higher education institutions across the globe, and helping to promote collaborative initiatives of different kinds that will benefit both Saint Leo and its partner institutions.
Dr. Felsen is also active in the international education sphere, currently serving as the Co-Chair of the Latin American and Caribbean Special Interest Group (LACSIG) at NAFSA: Association of International Educators. He is also a member of the Association of International Education Administrators.
Prior to beginning work at Saint Leo in early 2013, Dr. Felsen served as associate professor and director of the International Studies program at Alliant International University in San Diego.  He was active in the San Diego community, serving as President of the San Diego World Affairs Council from mid-2011 until January 2013 and as a board member of the organization since 2008.  He also served on the International Committee of the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce from 2007 to 2011.
Dr. Felsen also served as professor and director of the Master’s program in public policy and public administration at Monterrey Institute of Technology, Mexico, at its northern Mexico City campus.  Before that, he served as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Temple University in Philadelphia.
Dr. Felsen earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at McGill University in Montreal, Canada, and his doctorate from Oxford University in the United Kingdom.  He has been a visiting research scholar at the University of Bologna, Italy, and a visiting teaching fellow at LUISS University in Rome, Italy.
In addition to his administrative functions, Dr. Felsen also teaches Global Business Management to MBA students at Saint Leo, and writes about global economic and political institutions, leadership and organizations, and higher education policy issues.
