Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce

Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce commends the Mayor and County on their vision to strengthen Protocol with an international trade component.

The Tampa Bay Trade & Protocol Council is tasked with not only promoting the Tampa Bay region as a business destination for companies around the world, but to also introduce new international markets to the regions’s companies to explore as a possible location to do business. The Council researches, plans and coordinates at least one outbound trade mission for the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce a year as well as hosts multiple inbound business delegations from all over the world.

The Council supports their economic development corporation for the Tampa Bay region on various foreign direct and trade missions.

Inbound Missions

Often inbound missions spawn following a visit from a city that the Council or its partners delegations visited during an outbound mission. The Council receives inbound delegations from various countries seeking clients, considering the area as a new location for their business, or looking for Tampa Bay based companies to develop joint ventures. Research and matchmaking is an important activity for the Council in growing the region’s businesses and awareness in foreign countries.

Outbound Missions

The Council coordinates at least one outbound mission a year for the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce that includes major partners throughout the region into a foreign country. The destination country is chosen based on current economic and political trends as well as compatibility its top industries with the region. These Trade Missions, led by the Chamber,  Mayor or designee, include business to business meetings, meetings with top government leaders, and networking events and receptions. Our economic development partners are an integral part of this mission to provide assistance and recruitment efforts in growing our region.
