The Tampa Register is free to read. We pay for it by selling advertising to local businesses. Here is exactly how that works.
Guide sponsors
Each hiring guide may show one sponsor in a box marked "Sponsored" above the list. The sponsor paid for that spot. Some sponsors are companies owned by or affiliated with the people who run this site.
Numbered lists
No business pays to appear in a guide's numbered list, and no business can pay to change its position. We choose companies based on what we can verify about them, such as a local address, the services they list and any licenses or certifications they publish.
Featured listings
Directory listings marked featured or premium are paid. Links to those businesses' websites carry a rel="sponsored" tag.
Sponsored articles
Some articles are written or paid for by an outside business. Those articles say "Sponsored" at the top and name the sponsor, and their outbound links carry a rel="sponsored" tag. We edit every sponsored article for accuracy and relevance to Tampa readers before it goes live, and we turn down anything that doesn't fit.
