Where to go out in Tampa

Updated October 2026. Every fact links to its source. How we make money.

Tampa’s nights split across five districts: Ybor City for late clubs and live music, SoHo for bars, Water Street and Sparkman Wharf for rooftops and waterfront drinks, Armature Works for a food hall and a brewery, and Franklin Street for jazz and an old movie palace.

The free TECO Line Streetcar runs until 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, which makes Ybor and Water Street easy to pair. Hours below come from each venue’s own site, checked October 4, 2026.

Tampa’s nightlife districts

Ybor City (7th Avenue)

Ybor is Tampa's late-night district. Concert halls, dance clubs and neighborhood bars line 7th Avenue in brick buildings from the cigar era, and weekend shows at The Ritz Ybor run until about 3 a.m.

Where
Historic district about 2 to 3 miles northeast of downtown Tampa. The bar and club strip runs along East 7th Avenue.
Getting there
The TECO Line Streetcar is free and has four Ybor stops, including Centennial Park and Centro Ybor. It runs until 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday and until 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, every 15 minutes. After the last car, use rideshare. City garages include the Fernando Noriega Jr. Garage (2010 N 13th St) and the Centro Ybor Garage (1500 E 5th Ave).
Good to know
City on-street meters in Ybor are enforced from 8 a.m. to 3 a.m., seven days a week. In early 2026 the city repaved 7th Avenue from Nebraska Avenue to Nuccio Parkway, lowered speed limits and planned crash-rated bollards at busy crosswalks, so watch for traffic changes.

SoHo (South Howard Avenue)

SoHo mixes Irish pubs, cocktail bars and late dinners. Visit Tampa Bay describes lively happy hours and an after-dark party scene, with Bern's Steak House and pubs like MacDinton's on the same stretch.

Where
South Tampa, along South Howard Avenue near Bayshore Boulevard and Hyde Park.
Getting there
The streetcar does not reach SoHo. Rideshare is the simplest way in and out, and it saves you from hunting for a space on the busy strip.
Good to know
The City of Tampa on-street parking page does not list a separate SoHo zone. Read posted signs and pay stations before you park on side streets.

Water Street / Channel District (incl. Sparkman Wharf)

Water Street covers more than 16 city blocks of hotels, restaurants and lounges, so the night leans toward hotel rooftops and cocktail bars. Sparkman Wharf next door adds an open-air dining garden, a beer garden and game nights on the lawn.

Where
Downtown's waterfront east side, around Benchmark International Arena, The Tampa EDITION, JW Marriott Tampa Water Street and Sparkman Wharf on Channelside Drive.
Getting there
The free TECO Line Streetcar stops at Water Street, Port Tampa Bay, York Street and The Florida Aquarium stations, and it links to Ybor until 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. Downtown has more than 32,000 parking spaces in garages, and an app-based downtown shuttle costs $2 per person.
Good to know
Tampa Downtown Partnership Ambassadors patrol the downtown special services district to give directions, help stranded drivers and report safety issues such as streetlight outages. Channel District on-street meters run 8 a.m. to midnight daily.

Armature Works / Tampa Heights

Armature Works is a restored streetcar barn with a food hall, restaurants and the M.Bird rooftop bar, which stays open until 3 a.m. Thursday through Saturday. Nearby Tampa Heights has local breweries such as Hidden Springs Ale Works.

Where
Tampa Heights, just north of downtown on the Hillsborough River at 1910 N Ola Ave.
Getting there
Use rideshare or a car. Armature Works has four guest lots (free Monday through Friday until 4 p.m., except the 220 lot), the Heights District garage one block away and metered street parking.
Good to know
Armature Works says street meters on W 7th Ave, W Palm Ave, Oak Ave and N Highland Ave are enforced daily from 8 a.m. to midnight, starting at $1.50 an hour. The city lists the same 8 a.m. to midnight window for paid parking at Armature Works.

Franklin Street (downtown)

The Tampa Downtown Partnership notes that the central business district changes most from day to night, when lounges, bars and restaurants take over from office crowds. Tampa Theatre, a 1926 movie palace with a full bar, anchors the north end, and The Dan at Hotel Flor serves jazz a block away.

Where
Downtown's central business district, along North Franklin Street from the business district north toward the historic Tampa Theatre at 711 N Franklin St.
Getting there
The streetcar has two downtown stops and connects to Water Street and Ybor until 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. Tampa Theatre points visitors to metered street spaces, the Royal Regional Lot and the William F. Poe Garage three blocks away.
Good to know
Downtown on-street meters run from 8 a.m. to midnight every day. Meters north of Kennedy Boulevard are free from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sundays.
